In Sony’s recent State of Play event, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth sequel to 2020’s Final Fantasy VII Remake has been confirmed to be released in February of 2024. Back in June, Square Enix announced at the Summer Game Fest that Rebirth would be released in “early 2024”.

Alongside Rebirth’s release date, Sony and Square Enix also released a trailer showcasing the game. In it, we get a sneak peek of characters like Vincent Valentine, Cait Sith, Kalm, Junon, The Golden Saucer, and more. We also get to see some PS1-style minigames and the open area exploration of the game featuring ridable chocobos, vehicles, and segways.

Release Date Trailer of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth:

After the trailer’s release, producer Yoshinori Kitase, director Naoki Hamaguchi, and creative director Tetsuya Nomura each released a message on Twitter to celebrate the news.

Rebirth will continue directly where the Remake ended, with Cloud, Tifa, Barret, Aerith, and Red XIII heading toward the small town of Kalm. However, Square Enix has yet to state where in the original story the game might end. Rebirth will take around 100 hours to finish and will be released on 29 February 2024. It will be released exclusively for the PS5 and remain exclusive for 3 months before being released on other platforms.
