The X(formerly twitter) accounts of ‘House of the Dragon’ and it’s predecessor, ‘Game of Thrones’ confirmed that audiences will get their first look at the Targaryen family fiasco since season 1 tomorrow, on December 2nd, 2023. Season 2 of the ‘Game of Thrones‘ spin-off show is to be released at sometime next year.

The post a.k.a tweet, confirming this, can be seen below:

‘House of the Dragon’ broke all sorts of viewership records for HBO on their streaming service ‘Max'(HBO Max). After the disappointment of fans after the infamous ‘Game of Thrones’ finale, it seemed very unlikely that we’d see any of the Westerosi families back in action again. ‘House of the Dragon‘, a prequel, taking place about 200 years before the original show, narrates the story of the biggest civil war in the history of Westeros, “The Dance of Dragons” between the two self-claimed monarchs from the Targaryens, Queen Rhaenyra Targaryen and her younger brother, Aegon II Targaryen.

Many were skeptical that the show may meet the same fate that it’s predecessor did; some thought different. with the original author of the novels, George R.R. Martin, at the helm, things seem to be going in a favourable direction for the show. Along with ‘House of the Dragon’, HBO has confirmed a number of shows in the world of Westeros, to expand the rich history of the land across the silver screen.

House of the Dragon Season 2 character poster of ‘Rhaenyra Targaryen’

The ‘House of the Dragon’ first-look posters released today come with ‘Fire and Blood’ in true Targaryen fashion. Season 1 ended on a high note as the family, and the whole continent, seemed more divided than ever. On the brink of war, the tension is at an all-time high, and the posters convey this in the most haunting manner possible.

Rhaenyra Targaryen(Emma D’Arcy) and Alicent Hightower(Olivia Cooke) are ready to burn the whole country down in the search for ‘fire to fire, blood for blood’. For context, the season 1 finale ended with a major character death which placed the two powerful women at direct dds with one another.

The show has not only taken the ‘Game of Thrones’ fanbase but has managed to amass a large amount of people who haven’t seen the original show. The news has sent ‘A Song of Ice and Fire‘ and ‘Game of Thrones’ fans, everywhere in the world in a frenzy. The first news about the show in almost a year, fans will be crossing their fingers not to be disappointed.
